This Privacy Policy explains how Locto handles information when you visit locto.io (the "Site") or use the Locto macOS app (the "App").

If you have a privacy question — including a request to access, correct, or delete your data — email us. We answer every message personally.
Summary
- The App runs on your Mac. v1 does not send your audio, transcripts, or call data anywhere. The only network activity is verifying your license.
- The Site does collect data. Like most product sites, locto.io uses cookies and third-party tools for analytics, email signup, and advertising measurement.
- Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. They are the merchant of record on every purchase. We never see your card number.
- We do not sell personal data.
Site — what we collect
When you visit locto.io we may collect:
- Email address, if you submit it through a signup form. We use it to send product updates, launch news, and occasional marketing. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Usage data through analytics providers — pages viewed, time on page, referrer, approximate location (country and city level), device and browser type. Collected via cookies and similar technologies.
- Advertising and conversion data through pixels and tags from platforms we use for marketing (for example, Meta, Google Ads, Reddit, X, LinkedIn). These let us measure which ads bring visitors and customers and show relevant ads on those platforms.
- IP address and request logs, automatically through our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security and abuse prevention.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use:
- Essential cookies, needed for the Site to function.
- Analytics cookies, to understand Site usage.
- Marketing cookies, to measure ad performance and retarget visitors on other platforms.
If you are in a region that requires consent (such as the EU/EEA, UK, or California), a banner will let you accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can also disable cookies in your browser settings; some Site features may not work if you do.
App — what we collect
Locto v1 runs on your Mac and processes audio entirely on-device. The App does not send your transcripts, audio, meeting content, or speech to us or anyone else.
The only network activity in v1 is:
- License validation. When you activate your purchase, the App contacts our license server to verify your license key and associate it with your device. This involves your license key, a device hash, and a timestamp. It does not include your name, email, or any audio.
Future versions of Locto may include optional cloud-based features (for example, server-side analysis of your speaking patterns). These will always be:
- Off by default. You must explicitly enable them.
- Subject to additional terms. When you turn one on, the App will show you a clear description of what is sent, where it is processed, and the additional terms specific to that feature. You must accept those terms separately before the feature activates.
If you never enable optional cloud features, the App continues to behave the way Locto behaves today — fully on-device.
Payments
All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), our merchant of record and the seller of record on every transaction. When you buy Locto, you provide your payment details directly to Lemon Squeezy. We receive a record of your purchase (email, order ID, country, license key) but we never receive your card number, CVV, or full payment details.

Service providers
We share information only with the providers we use to operate Locto:
- Cloudflare — Site hosting, security, performance, and DNS.
- Lemon Squeezy — payments, billing, tax compliance, license issuance.
- Email and marketing platforms — to send product emails and run marketing campaigns.
- Analytics platforms — to measure Site usage.
- Advertising platforms — to measure ad performance and serve relevant ads.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for purposes other than operating Locto.
International transfers
Locto is operated from Mexico. Many of our service providers (including Lemon Squeezy and most major analytics, email, and advertising tools) are based in the United States or operate globally. If you visit the Site or buy the App from outside Mexico, your information will be transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions. We rely on the standard contractual safeguards offered by these providers.
Your rights
You can:
- Ask what data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing [email protected].
- Reject non-essential cookies via the consent banner (where shown) or disable cookies in your browser.
If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, California, or another region with specific privacy rights (including the right to object, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority), those rights apply under your local law and we will honor them. Email [email protected] to exercise any right; we respond within 30 days.
Data retention
- Marketing list: until you unsubscribe.
- License records: for as long as your license is active, plus a reasonable period for tax, refund, and support obligations.
- Analytics: aggregated where possible; raw identifiable data is retained per the provider's default settings.
- Support emails: kept while needed to handle the conversation, deleted on request.
Children
Locto is not designed for or marketed to people under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
Security
We use standard practices: encrypted connections (HTTPS), reputable service providers, and limited internal access. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice on the Site. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
